Not a row in our database, and not a folder in an account you have to keep paying for. One file. Copy it, email it, drop it in whatever cloud drive you already trust.
The server keeps your email address and whether your licence is active. That’s the lot. Your manuscript never reaches it, so there’s nothing of yours for us to leak or hold hostage.
Your licence is checked on your own machine, so a dead connection doesn’t stop you writing. Ours or yours. Sign in again every so often and that’s the whole of it.
Back up, auto-backup and export to text are all built in. Since we’re not keeping a copy for you, keeping one is your job, so the tools for it are right there.
Export the manuscript as plain text whenever you like. If you ever walk away from Glacier, you walk away with the thing you came here to write.
Nothing to install and nothing to update. In Chrome, Edge or anything else built on Chromium, your story is written straight to a file on your drive as you type. In other browsers it lives safely inside the browser instead, and Back up and Open carry it in and out.
The same Glacier, built as a proper application. It reaches your drive directly, so the file updates as you type with nothing sitting in the middle. Close everything else and it’s you and the app.
We’re building it. When it lands you’ll buy it on the App Store and unlock it there, so it needs no account with us and has nothing to do with this licence system. Worth knowing first: a web or desktop licence bought here won’t cover it.
No subscription. We sell it per platform because a desktop build is permanent, real maintenance, and a payment you made three years ago can’t keep funding that forever. Buying in two steps never costs more than the bundle did on day one.

No. You pay once for a platform and you keep it, and updates are included for as long as we sell and support it. A future major version might one day be a separate purchase. If that happens, the version you own stays yours and carries on working.
Fourteen days, no reason needed, and you keep that right even after you’ve started using Glacier. The law would let us ask you to sign it away in exchange for instant access. We don’t. Email us and the money goes back the way it came. After the fourteen days, a fault or anything not as described is still ours to put right. The terms spell it out.
